Love that song Tommy!, I always loved it by Larry Carlton, have to look it up to see who wrote it.

Thanks Roy!

The song is '(It Was) Only Yesterday' written by Larry Carlton from his self titled CD from 1978, so cool that Tommy decided to do that song, maybe he can take a stab at 'Upper Kern' next Smile

That is some awesome playing Tommy! I can see nothing will slow you down...Absolutely loved it!

Hey Tommy White fans, I want to share one of my favorite Tommy White renderings....On this trailer I asked Tommy to improvise a few seconds of something so we could have a musical interlude into the instruction course...We ran the video and this came pouring out of Tommy's soul, totally unrehearsed....Its as beautiful and heart wrenching as anything I have ever heard. I bring this up because this is totally improvised. Its great listening and sheer brilliance!

Enjoy...PF

I never cease to be amazed at the incredible musicianship
of both Tommy and Paul. It's almost as great a thing as the wonderful people they both are.

This attitude, personality and sharing characteristic is the main thing that endeared me so to the steel guitar community when I first started playing in the 70s. Such a great tradition among the greatest players to ever touch the instrument and carried on here by TW and PF.

It's an amazing legacy. Thank you so much.

Didn't mean to sidetrack the thread which is about Tommy and not Paul, but felt a nod to PF was also in order due to his earlier post.

Thanks so much fellas. The Carlton tune was just off the cuff out of boredom, mistakes and all.
Jerry,
Any mention of me in the same sentence as my dear friend and hero Paul Franklin is a blessing and honor!
Again, thank you.
Stay safe and healthy friends! 😊
