Topic: Backing Tracks Thru Amp |

| I tried to do a video and run a backing through the second jack on my Nashville 112 amp. My steel just did not sound right, it did not have the full sound and less volume. Does anyone know what could cause this? Is the amp not designed to do such things as using a backing track while the steel is plugged in? Any help would be appreciated. |

Anytime you run a full track and another instrument through the same amp (and speaker) they will both be fighting for the same frequencies (and speaker air movement)
At low volumes you would not even notice it, but if you crank up the volume of the backing track, it will muddy up the steel guitar signal. (Especially if the bass and drums are thumping hard)
This is more of a problem with the two signals being reproduced by the same speaker than the same amp.

You generally shouldn't run a backing track into the preamp of a high impedance amp. Use something seperate or get something like a Telonics with an Aux (post pre-amp) In.
Try it into the Power Amp input in the back.

| You have a Send and Return on the front of that amp. Plug your backing track into the Return. Control the the track volume from the device your using for the track. |

As Andrew suggested, I went with JBL powered speakers about two years ago. I just plug them into my IPad and play tracks from my ITunes Library. Carl

| You may notice that the inputs on the '112' are labeled High and Low. When both jacks are in use, the left side jack (High) reverts to lower gain so that both inputs match. As suggested; try using the 'Power Amp In' feature on the rear panel, (bypasses the pre amp section so that your settings for the guitar remain unaffected). |

If I understand what your doing correctly, Your using the wrong input for the backing track. You need to use the jack on the back panel labeled Preamp out/ CD input.

| FWIW: A Stereo Steel amp has RCA left and right input jacks for this purpose. I am using them to drive my Evans stereo pre-amp. I might consider selling it. |

| I tried the output on the back of the amp as Henry Brooks suggested. It works great where I can play with tracks. Thanks everyone for all your input. |
