Given the world-wide concerns on travel and events, let me ask the obvious question: how was attendance at the Dallas show? I was a reluctant no-show, partly to placate my wife.

Well I always park on that parking lot South of the Sherandon. And when I left Saturday night there were a
a Total of 4 cars me & 3 others left.
I did not try to find a parking spot on the Sheradon
parking area.

Attendance was down but large crowd in main room Friday & Saturday night. As for parking - almost no place to park front of back Friday about noon. Lloyd Green said his friends who were to come with him all "chicken Out " - even his new girl friend lol .

One of the best steel shows I have even been to.

Lloyd Green & Sarah were GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!

It was definitely down, but on the upside you could find multiple seats in the ball room. Still seemed like a lot of people, yet someone, I forget who said down by about a 1000 people... I guess maybe by the amount of badges picked up, and lots of cancelations in the hotel as well... we got there at about 12:30 Thursday afternoon and our room was already available... that never happens.

Down by 1000?? Has it ever had 1000 attendees in the past? Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thought of it as about a 500 person show...

The attendance was down. For the evening shows Friday & Saturday they had roughly 300-350. (499 chairs up) I was happy to see the crowd as big as it was. You could see a big change in how the vendor area outside the ballroom was not nearly as crowded as in past shows.
Albert Talley and the crew deserve a HUGE "THANK YOU" for their super HARD WORK to make it happen during this extremely difficult time!
All the players did a great job.
Dino Strunk "Burned the place down" with some amazing and unbelievable Tele picking!!!
Alway good to see and hear a legend and mentor like Lloyd Green. He also told some very good stories about the old days!
Sara Jory is incredible, on stage with the house band and in the Mullen Room.....This lady is in total COMMAND of the instrument!!! I gave her a copy of the "Rose Book" I had made.
Buck Reid was another super picker that inspired me to do some "woodshedding" again!! The house band did a wonderful job backing all these pickers!!!
A BIG THANKS to TEXAS, DALLAS, SHERATON, PLAYERS and ALBERT & DEBBIE and the entire CREW!!!!
We LOVED every minute of it!

Several years ago when Emmons, Rugg, Hughey, Day, Newman played on Saturday night the crowds were around 1000. This year it was way down due to the virus and people being scared to be in a crowd. However, the playing was top notch like it always is. I am happy Albert Talley decided to keep the show going.

It was definitely down Jim, but 1000 did seem a little high to me too... Like I said I heard it from someone I felt was in the Know, but for the life of me can't remember who that was... I do know that at no time was it difficult to find a seat, even multiple seats together and after appairently removing a bunch of chairs to stay under the 500 limit imposed by the County.

I feel like considering the world situation that the attendance was still pretty good. Was it down sure. I have played the showcase the last 3 years and due to a main show cancellation, Alberts permission and Bill Ferguson’s invitation I played a spot on the main show Saturday morning.
Funny story Bill called me I was still in my room trying to wake up, when I got the call I jumped up got ready and headed down to the ballroom to warmup. Thanks to the staff band for always doing a great job to make us all sound good. And a big congrats to my Friend Janet Lynn Wise on her Hall of Fame induction!

How do you measure the amount of people? The lobby next to the ballroom had all kinds of new booths, the parking lot was jammed pack , and as Herb said, on Friday night " I call this a full house".The number of empty chairs was about 7 or 8. Sat also. This yr the band was maybe the best I have seen there too. Chuck Back and Dino Strunk amazed us. The Rick Alexander room had fine players and a nice P A , so everything was good.

We could take the number of tickets sold and subtract the unclaimed tickets. That would be a fairly accurate measure.
It is unfortunate that the virus scare started to hit home just about show time. In fact, it sneaked in just under the wire as stay at home orders were being implemented.

Yes it was an awesome show despite the no show of a few of the vendors and a few players too - I was relieved it was still on since I had come all the way from NZ - glad I was there -- and as a few have already said - what about Dino Strunk hehe ...holy cow that lad can pick a Tele :-}

Then there was Lloyd and Sarah !!!! :-}

Further to the praises on Dino Strunk - I agree! Those of us who attended Scotty's would have seen him there since about 2009.
