I bought mine in 2005, they quit building them soon after that.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

That single neck carbon fiber one had to be one of the lightest good sounding guitar I ever played. I recently spent 100.00 one way to fly my Emmons D19 to Dallas and everyone at the airport made remarks about the weight. |

I love MSA guitars. They have always been innovative. To me, they will always have an association with Reece, who was an innovator, always accessible and wanting to help. _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |

"Some people"? That was mainly Bobbe Seymour. He was a character, for sure. And those who got to know him would probably expect such remarks. |

Even the Peavey amp in the background is looking sideways at that guitar! |

There was a lot of bad blood between Bobbe and Reece. Bobbe even put down Curly Chalker for playing an MSA.
It's too bad that these giants did not get along. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Yeah, Bobbe was rather jealous of Reece (and other great players), and he had a problem with people who didn't like what he liked. |

Reece, was a very good person. After I got my MSA I had some self inflicted problems. I called, got Reece. He talked me through it and was never condescending, though my problem was of my own making. He also sent me some nylon tuners for free. I still have some. He called me back to check if I had it fixed. _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |

Back when I was working on my Firebird Suite CD, I was afraid that nobody was going to like it. I feared that the classical music community would reject it because it was a steel guitar recording, and the steel guitar community would reject it because it's classical music.
I gave Reece some preliminary tapes, and he was extremely encouraging. There were times when I was tempted to give up, but Reece kept telling me I was on to something, and I should continue to work on the recording. He gave me a much needed shot in the arm.
When I felt it was time for a new steel, One if the reasons I bought another MSA was out of loyalty to him. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

2002 was when they started the design process. I built the last D10 for Joan Cox in 2010. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Johnny, the guitar you built for me is an M3. What are the differences between it and the earlier models?
BTW, you did a great job. The guitar is terrific. I will never replace it. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Johnny built my Patriot Millennium shown above, and did a great job on it too. It was set up perfectly when I got it, I got it on a Friday and played it with the praise band on Sunday morning and all I had to do was tweak the tuning just a little. It is still set up the way Johnny built it, I'm somewhat of a "tweaker" but I haven't changed a thing on this one. It still plays as good as it did the day I got it. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

The Millennium (carbon-fiber) models were made from 2002 until 2011 |
