Mr. Young, I hold you personally responsible for lighting the fire in 1968. Kind Woman set my musical compass, and your playing and showmanship pushed live Poco shows over the top. Thank you, sir.

Happy birthday Rusty, and MANY more!..
I remember the first time I heard Poco's first album and I was awestruck.. Pickin' Up the Pieces .
Didn't even know what I was listening to, but man I liked it...
Copied a LOT of Rusty's licks over the years, but could never cop his touch, tone,feel.. Great touch and unique delivery..

Happy birthday, Rusty, and many more. Thanks for all the great music and inspiration. Like many here, Poco was the bar every other band had to measure up to for me. Not many made it.
Mike B. - what a great pic! Never seen that one before, thanks for posting. Funny juxtaposition, with Rusty all wild and crazy and George behind the kit being Ringo.
Bob C. - I think of Sagebrush and Rose of Cimmaron as great examples of Rusty’s “suite†type of composing. I think he and Ritchie Furay were both Yes fans, and they occasionally took that progressive style into the country rock dimension very well. The solo on Whatever Happened to your Smile is right up there with the iconic Bad Weather solo. The shorty but sweety on Brass Buttons ain’t bad either. @ 2:08
