I knew Jerry was undergoing treatments for Cancer but had no clue the progress of it. I last spoke with him a couple of months ago where he re-wounded two pickups for me. I never personally met Jerry but always had a great experience dealing with him, many times. He will be missed. Condolences to his family. |

I’m shocked and saddened by this news. I met Jerry many years ago in Dallas at the TSGA Steel Guitar Jamboree. He was a friend that I held in the highest regard. My condolences to his family. They are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ GFI w/L710, A pair of Peavey Nashville 112’s, Peavey “fex units”, Hilton VP, BJS, Steelers Choice, Furman, Evidence Audio Forte |

I just saw this. Very sad news indeed. I have several single coil rewinds he did for my Emmons guitars. He always went the extra mile.
Prayers for him & his family!ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™

Very sad news. Jerry and I grew up together, attended school together and played music together through the years. What a great guy. Jerry influenced me to play the pedal steel and my first guitar was his Emmons push pull single 10.
My prayers and condolences to his family.
You can visit Jerry's website and see pictures of him and his great Truetone pickups.

That is sad news. Prayers to his family and I hope he didn't suffer.
I just got a Truetone PU from him about 18 months ago. Not used it yet.
He was a very nice man and made fine pickups too. RIP. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

RIP, Jerry. Been using a Truetone on my E9 neck for about 12 years now, love the sound still. _________________ Mullen RP D10, Peavey NV112, Hilton volume. Hound Dog reso. Piles of other stuff. |

Jerry was a master of pickups, and a really good guy. He could take any pickup and turn it into a tone-filled slab of awesomeness. I loved his pickups and their gritty tone. I had him rewind several pickups, including a set from a Blanton – that guitar sounded like no other. He was also great to deal with on the business side.
If you have any Wallace Truetones, cherish them. |
