Have the seller take hi def photos of the steel, case and shipping carton before they send it, just in case. _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

Yes!
But.... make sure the shipping company actually covers what's insured.
I shipped a steel by FedEx, and after the fact was told that they don't insure instruments of a certain age, which included mine.
Thankfully, no problems ensued.
When I shipped a different steel, UPS told me that they don't have that stipulation. Also delivered successfully).
So, insurance, YES, but make sure you know the details. _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel

With UPS it is not insurance. It is declared value. Big difference. And UPS is next to impossible to settle a claim with. I use USPS as often as I can for shipping. They take care of the package better and claims get taken care of also. |
