My wife, Nancy, remembers the Everly Brothers and said she loves that song.

That's great! I was 8 years old when the song came out and I remember hearing it on the radio. It was played for many years after that as an oldie. For many of us, the Everly Brothers were the soundtrack of our youth, or a big part of it. Smile

Thanks Steven! Much appreciated. A lot of people have been listening and watching lately. My YouTube odometer just clicked over again... 16 Million views. That's a lot of steel guitar viewing around the world! Cool

The (almost) lost art of just playing the song and playing it with feeling, warmth and perfect timing. My wife came in from the other room saying who is that? I like that song! I usually get "Sounds good but you need to work on your timing." Great job, Doug.

I love your playing Doug. This one shows how you can take a simple melody and make it sound interesting. I loved the Everley’s too

Thanks for the kind comments. For this song, I decided to go with the melody only, no frills. Some songs have such a pretty combination of melody and chords, playing fills or improvisation would detract from the song IMO. Happy Holidays everyone! Smile

Hey Doug. This is one of my favorites -- such great taste and tone!

A friend (and me too!) are curious and would like to know what amp and settings you used on this one.

Thanks so much!!!

Thanks Dan, I’m playing through a Peavey Nashville 112. I’m recording direct, line out, so its not the speaker sound you’re hearing. The settings: on Peavey amps I usually boost the lows, cut the mids, and boost the highs slightly. I’m also use a black box (tube filter).
