Just in time for your Christmas pleasure.
From the 1997 International Steel Guitar Convention.
One of the highlights each year was when Jeff Newman would have some sort of jam on stage. There was always a lot of carrying on, great picking, mistakes and you name it.
This is what steel guitar conventions are all about.

I'm watching this in stages. I miss these jams so much. I think this era, late 60s, 70s thru 90s was the absolute best for steel guitar experimentation, innovation etc.
I was out in the audience for this and many of the convention shows. I don't guess I appreciated it the time, and I never thought I would see the end of these type shows.
Bittersweet memories watching Jeff and Hal. The void they left can never be filled.
Paul and Tommy...just wow...what ambassadors for the steel guitar and examples of what can be done with it.
I'm so thankful for them and may God Bless them as they go forward showing the world what the steel guitar should be.
