(Added better quality pictures without glare )For sale is a 2003 McKenna 7 String Dobro .
Has fisherman pickup installed excellent condition with the exception of some scratches that is seen in the pictures on the side of the neck as well as a few on the back very well built and high quality instrument . Excellent tone , loud & great sustain these are getting to be more of a rare find odor free new strings comes with factory case 650.00 Shipped OBO US sales check or money order will be fine thanks

Hey, I have a few questions on your dobro, if you don't mind? First, what is the construction? laminated wood? Solid wood?
Also, in the second picture, are those scratches or reflections in the top, on the lower bout (near the top of the pic)? Also, on the back, I assume those are scratches (you only mention the neck)? And last, what type of fishman pickup is installed? My understanding is that a Nashville pickup does not work for more than 6 strings, but perhaps I'm wrong? Or perhaps it is a different model? How would you desribe the tone through an amp/PA?

Allen, Chris may chime in to reply, but I believe he ended up having it turned into an 8-string dobro, and then sold that. Here's the thread:

The reverb ad is no longer active, but when he listed it, I saw it and thought it was the same guitar, and I believe he explained in the ad the transition.
That was a good deal, for sure - I was surprised it did not move initially. If I did not already have a Sho-Bro 7-string, I would have bought it for sure!

Thanks Douglas. How do those Sho-bros sound?
I really have a hankering for a 7 string as I like having the root on top, and the string spacing wouldn't be as tight as an 8-string. I'm sorry I missed this one!
Would tune it like Shot, E G# B E G# B E - kind of the best of both worlds IMO. |

Allen, Chris sent the 7-string to Beard and had it converted to an 8-string. They also installed a Beard cone. He listed it for sale on this site mid-November and I bought it. I think it's a great guitar. String spacing is same as my Stringmaster, which is perfect for me. Of course, your mileage may vary.
