With steel:
Preamp - Sarno Revelation, Neunaber Immerse reverb in the FX loop
Speaker - TT-12

With fiddle:
Preamp - Grace Design Alix
Speaker - TT-12

AB switch between the preamps into the amp input. Both preamps go direct to PA and the amp/speaker are for stage volume

Hey Jack, I am using one of Brad Sarno's Octal V-8 preamps in front of the Straight Ahead amp and the output is going to a Telonics 15" open back speaker cab with, of course the Telonics EPS-15C speaker inside. (Oh, also I use a Sarno Steel Guitar Black Box ahead of the V-8 preamp) The tone on this setup is exquisite, of course it doesn't hurt that I am playing an Emmons LLII. I have a SMS Revelation as well in another rack and a MESA Boogie Studio Preamp in a third rack. Overall, I would have to say that the combination of the Black Box, Octal V-8, then to the Straight Ahead Power amp and then the Telonics cab is going to be hard to beat under anyone's preferences of tone. I have had a Fender Twin with JBL's, Ampeg VT-22, Peavey Deuce, Peavey Session, Peavey LTD, Vegas 400, Nashville 400 and Session 500 and I believe I have now hit the nail on the head when it comes to the tubey goodness being reproduced through Jay's Straight Ahead amp and Telonics Cabinet. Plus, Jay's a great guy, to boot! Good luck with your decision! Roger Smile
BTW, I can't take full responsibility for this combo...I read what Brad Sarno had posted on this forum some time ago about using this setup. Brad is a bonafide Genious! Smile
