I am sad to pass along the news that Perry Metheny has passed. Perry and his brother Travis had the Metheny Brothers band in the San Antonio area for many years. They made lots of cool records ("Mary Goes Round", I Get High", Wearing A Label", etc.) and were a big deal in these parts. Their steel players over the years included Dicky Overbey, Randy Rinehard, and Don Bierstedt, among others. I was blessed to have worked with them some myself.
