Nobody locally stocks quality guitar cables, such as Rapco with Switchcraft plugs. What are your favorite mail order houses these days? I might also be shopping for a pedal style tuner to plug into the volume pedal -- recommendations appreciated. Thanks very much....dan |

You can spend your kids inheritance on cables if you wanna. But if you're capable with a utility knife and a soldering iron, you can make your own that are every bit as good as any premium commercial cable at a fraction of the cost. See Steve Paris' post on the thread below for info on the Canare cable sold by Markertek:

George L's cables and solderless plugs are great, but they can be finicky to set up properly. Lava cable kits seem to be a little more user friendly.
As for a pedal tuner, look no further than the Peterson Strobo Stomp. _________________ Mullen Discovery S10, Hilton VP, Kemper Profiler Head and Kabinet. |

For a stompbox tuner that's pretty visible (haven't used it outdoors yet) I'm pretty happy w/Peterson Strobo stomp HD, using either Sid Hudson sweetener or build in SE9 and SP9 settings. Reading the user manual takes a while, but you can choose the presets you want using their Peterson connect software and hit the footswitch and a string on your guitar to switch presets

Dan Yeago: Store bought or make your own?
Some people do not have the skill/tools/time to make their own
Totally understandable.
A good number of the replies have been aimed at build your own.
But you may want to just buy ready made and be done with it. Reading your original post that is the feeling that I get.
Which path are you thinking?
That will affect the answers you get. |

Dan, I custom make George L's cables and ship directly to you, asap.
They are a little pricey, but I will offer you the best price you will find anywhere and stand behind these cables 100%. If you are unhappy, you don't pay and you keep the cables.
I stock Red or Black cable and will make any configuration you want on the ends.
Let me know if I can be of service or you would like a price list.

I buy canare cable and nuetrik plugs and make my own. If you use
https://www.markertek.com/
You can have them make them to order. Very reasonable prices for about as good as it can get. _________________ Bob |

Tim Marcus stole my thunder, Redco Audio is the bomb. Over the years I have bought ALOT of bulk cable and connectors from them. Their prices and selection are awesome. They have their own brand of cable which I have used to build many multi pair audio sub snakes and lots of xlr cables for my previous band. I love Neutrik xlr connectors, speakon and 1/4 jacks. They solder up easier imho. My favorite instrument cable Mogami W2524 by far. Making your own cables is easy, just takes a little soldering practice and provides a sense of satisfaction. I’ve always really enjoyed making cables and found that soldering to me is very therapeutic. |

Erv’s are great. The ones b0b sells on the Forum are really easy to make, and no soldering involved. I’ve been using both for a couple of years and lots of gigs and they really hold up. Far fewer problems than I’ve had with the George L cables. _________________ Kevin Maul: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Decophonic, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing.
