Well, here we go, I have had my Mullen Discovery for 2 1/2 weeks and schedule to use it at my duos weekly gig this coming Wed. Playing simple stuff but sure sounds sweet. Have played dobro for 11 years so familiar with double stops but this is a whole new challenge. Looking forward to playing for a live audience....took it to a jam last week, and had a great time...but this time we'll be on stage LOL. Pressure is on.

Congratulations on your new Mullen Terry! You'll do just fine. Judging by your signature and website, you have a fine stable of other instruments too.

I enjoyed listening to some of your music. The Water is Wide is a favorite tune of mine for many years.

Terry, good luck on your gig, you will be fine. It will take you a while to learn the pedals and not depend on the bar and straight tuning. Spend some time getting the mechanics down so it's second nature. Bar slants are cool and can be used in combination with the pedals. Enjoy the journey.

excellent ! Gotta start somewhere and sometime !

The water isn't near as deep as everyone claims at the deep end of the pool, just jump on in !

You will be surprised how much of your Dobro fretboard and intervals will all of a sudden become familiar on the Steel.

Have fun !

It's been 40 years ago but I still remember my first time to play steel in the band. Stay at it and just have fun.

Way to go Terry! I see you're already on to the pro's who have the LED's and displays in their backline match their shirt. Always a nice touch!

The smile says it all....

probably back about 1985 I was asked to set in with a group for a large fundraiser. Was at a large auditorium, well, when I arrived I found out that it was being televised on local cable channels. When the curtain went up, there it was, about 75 feet away from the stage with a camera crew. I was never nervous after that one!!! Broke the ice. It was fun to see us on TV. A friend of mine had recorded it. Was in a house band at a large country night club in the mid 90's. The club had a TV commercial filmed there while we were playing. We got about 6 seconds of air time. Hey Terry, glad to see you had a blast!!!
