Jim Pulte "Cry, Sing And Laugh". Is that a sitar bar Mr.Emmons is using?

Probably. I use a Dunlop sitar bar on rare occasions, sounds like that.

No, I think it's stainless steel, longer and heavier than standard bars, about a 1/4-inch flat side. You can play it as normally and get great sustain and extra reach on 12-string guitars. Then roll it over with flat side down, and you're ready to cop the guitar lick on "Games People Play." Or whatever.

I often used it when I was bored sounding like a typical pedal steel, so it was my change-up pitch!

Buddy used the standard size Emmons sitar bar on this recording.
Essentially a standard Emmons bar with a 1/4” flat spot as John said.
I have that bar and Buddy’s last BJS bar with his birthstone in it. Incidentally, Buddy and I have the same Birthstone.

Also Jay Dee, and Jimmy Day. And Ray Price. Can I legally change my birthday from July to January?

A wooden bar will give you a quasi-Dobro sound. I use plastic mechanical pencils and M&M mini cases to get a quasi-banjo sound.

Did Emmons invent the Sitar Bar? I seem to remember it listed in the Emmons sales catalog.
