Crap! Just saw him playing it in Missoula a couple weeks ago!
Won’t be easy to pawn that one. Hope they catch the syphalitic parasitics.

There's no way anyone can attempt to sell that guitar without being caught

Broke a window in his car which was parked at a hotel, according to the article.

I had a similar tragedy with my equipment on January 17,1987 at the Rawhide Lounge in N. Dartmouth, Mass. In 1978 I started building my first steel with help from Tom Bradshaw. I completed it five years later in 1983. The night it was stolen I was inside the lounge. They broke a window of my station wagon and took my steel, a Fender Super Reverb amp, stool with accessories, Calvin Kline jeans & shirt. I got it back almost 15 years later on 10/11/01. (one month after 9/11) It was in rough shape. It took months to fix it. I know how Junior Brown feels right now. It takes the "wind out of your sail". I`ve seen the incredible entertainer 3 times. I hope he gets his equipment soon.

Can you tell us how you got it back and what was done with it while it was stolen. That is a fascinating story. Was the return related to 9/11?

I read the newspaper article and it was the red one, however it doesn't look red anymore at all, I saw him play with it at the Ozark super shoe, its pretty worn.

They are shipping his "yellow" guit steel in a museum for him to play in shows and there is a new one on the shelf that will be finished soon is what is in the article.

Hi Darrell, It was in a stinky basement for a long time. A divorced woman told some musician friends that she had a guitar with the name "MANNY" on it which my artist friend had carved. I know that it had changed hands. The case was gone. # 1. The original thief had assembled it. #2. It had been taken apart by someone who unscrewed the rods unaware of the ball and socket.

I hope this gets back to JB.

I think someone may grab a steel in its case, thinking its a keyboard, which may be easier to fence than a steel. I hope that leads to a quick recovery.
