Beautiful! I have watched your demo videos, featuring Randy Beavers etc playing some of your other restorations, again and again. Tonal benchmark kind of stuff!

You certainly seem to know your way around the 'armpit/standard guitar' quite well!

Awe thanks so much. When you get this old it's all you can do to remember how you used to play LOL

Hi Mike,
Just this photo alone is enough to make me wish I had a few extra grand in a drawer somewhere... I'd buy it in a New York minute. Laughing Maybe a Nashville minute!
Great work... You always do really nice stuff, but this is one very special PSG.
Best wishes,
Andy Very Happy

Thanks Andy, I really do appreciate all the comments. My hope is the documentation will help others when working on their own guitars. This is a guitar I had in my head for a few years and finally was able to do one up. Gonna take a break after this one as I have a lot of projects to catch up on.

Stay tuned

Too many projects? Shocked I know that feeling all too well.
Building my first two from the ground up now and also have the 1956 Dewey Kendrick (Nobody has any idea who he is) PSG to restore.
It's a real mess and the pedal system does not work at all, but it has amazingly nice birds eye maple and the tone is great.
Think I'll just gut it, replace the changers with some double raise and lower ones and a more modern pulling system, Cross rods & bell cranks. Also get rid of the couch leg type leg holders for real ones. Those silly fretboards have to go too. Already dumped those crazy knee levers.
I expect I'm looking at about two years on that project alone. Sure it will cost me more than it would ever be worth.
Want to finish my builds first. Laughing
Best wishes,
Andy

About 1&1/8" thick and heavy as all get up.
I was thinking of taking it down to 3/4" but Todd Clinesmith seems to think that may be a lot of why it sounds so good.
I'm really not sure, but thought it was more to do with the double Fender pickups? Question

Well Push Pulls are 1/2" through and through and they sound pretty good Smile

Hi Johnny!

Yes it is for sale. As of right now it is pending, however no deposit or payment has been made. After the 15th if this guitar is not paid for it will be available for purchase. Thanks

I agree with polishing all metal.....I even buff the beveled ends of the cross-shafts where they pass through the apron mounting pedal brackets and also the inner hooks on the pedal rods.

On my 78 keeper D-10 rebuild, I also did the “ball-bearing” mod. The mod consists of taking off about 1/32” off each cross-shaft end and inserting a ball bearing between each end of the. cross-shaft end and the apron. It contributed to smooth smoother & lighter pedal action.

Lastly, at the suggestion of fellow forumite Larry Behm, I removed the pedal return springs on A&B. All in all, this p/p pedals as nicely as my LG II.
