My daughter was at a club in Kansas City, Mo Sunday evening (Knuckleheads) and there was a steel player in the band. Knowing what brand steel I have she asked him about his and he told her it was a "Pedalcaster". (see pic below).

I've heard it called a lot of things but this is a first. I don't know if the guy was just being snotty or not.

Possibly an in joke with the other guitarists? The bass player I have known for four years still calls it a "lap slide" despite my offers to dump it in his lap.
What's in a name...?

Probably a Pedalmaster.

You have to keep in mind that she's asking a Knucklehead who tucks his long johns into his boots....

I have to agree on the Pedalmaster. She probably misunderstood him.

Gotta admit though, Pedalcaster is a cool name. Maybe for a PSG where the Bobby is shaped like a Tele or Strat instead of a rectangle.

Not really, much better than the rag tag grungy, wear anything, look that many bands have today. I'll take stage outfits and a much better presentation.
