| Anyone know the weight of a Peavey Blue Marvel speaker from a NV112? I am considering a change to a SICA 12-8 that weighs 6 lb. and what would it save me? |

Hi Jim,
Blue Marvel for the Peavey NV112 is ll lbs. The NV112 has a bigger magnet than the regular guitar Blue Marvel.
The blue Marvel used in regular guitar amps is 7 lbs. |

| Hey Tom, Thanks. I should have called you. The SICA 12-8 would only save 5 lbs. and probably not improve the tone. I am like you, I think, always experimenting with equipment. |

FWIW, disregarding weight, I find the best "improvement" in the NV112 is to replace the 5 chips on the preamp board with the OPA 2134's (sold by Ken Fox or I have some to sell).
$30 is a lot less than a new speaker.

A word on the chip mod. Some of the later NV112's (and all the new made in China versions) have the chips soldered to the circuit board and not in sockets. If yours is soldered in, don't attempt chip replacement.

| Mine is an older model, so they should be o.k. to replace. Thanks for the tip. BTW, I did the replacement on another 112 I owned and sold. |
