I use Hoffmeyer fingerpicks. They have 2 styles, I ordered the standard, but he sent me the custom ones, and have become fond of them - they have a little less material around the clamp part. They are a little pricey, but I like them.

shaping them: I use a couple pairs of needle noise pliers w/duct tape wrapped around the tips so not to gouge the bands and bend carefully into a more cone shaped rather than tube shape, that fits my fingers a lot better. If the band is too long (pinky) i just bend one of the ends up so they don't overlap

As far as shaping hte blade, the sppon shaped ones i buy don't need it but the flat ones need a lot of cutting/filing/buffing. If i have to, I do the reshaping/spooning with a small socket wrench, pushing it into the back of the blade into thick carpeting to shape it.

Gene, that's funny: I do the opposite, I flatten the spooned picking blades to give more contact with the string, like a flat pick.
