I live in Austin, TX. I am 46 and I am brand new to PSG. I just over paid for a old Sho-Bud Maverick (should have researched here first, I know) and now want to get serious about learning. Seems like a lot of the Steel players that used to teach around here have gone underground. Hoping to ferret one out.
Willing to pay up front, flexible nights and weekend schedule and willing to work hard. Would start immediately. Hoping for 8 lessons a month for about 3 months then back off to 4 a month for awhile. Any leads appreciated.

should also say that I am not new to stringed instruments. Im a ok Travis picker and novice banjo player. Im familiar with palm mute techniques and grips, volume pedal swells and open tuning slide guitar I think i'd be a quick study once I get past the actual technical hurdles of the guitar.

I second that with Bob Hoffnar. Not sure if Bob is teaching these days but you will not find a nicer person. I believe Bob's education is in music composition.
