Beautiful, Kay! Keith would know better than I, but think Hank Marvin is Cockney slang for being hungry. Starvin' like Marvin turned into I'm Hank Marvin.

Hank's real name is Brian Rankin. I wonder what cockney rhyming slang could fit that name?? Rolling Eyes Laughing

Grateful to all for the appreciation!

Hank (Brian) adopted the name Marvin from Marvin Rainwater, country singer of the late 50s who had hits like "Gonna Find Me a Bluebird".

Yes, Hank Marvin is the cockney for "starvin' ", but I have not heard of a cockney connection for Rankin. Likely because Hank adopted his new surname when he was in his late teens, so he has been "Marvin" for the majority of time.

Hank makes that strat sound so much like a steel guitar, getting his glissando's with clever use of the whammy bar ... a master of touch and tone....connecting the notes...
