There's a lot of good JB steel on those cuts. His steel guitar is not as "out front" as it is on his own albums, but that's understandable. I like the female vocalist, but the male vocalist is kinda hard to take.
It sounds like Jerry is playing his diatonic tuning on "Philippine Farewell" because the intro sounds just like his intro on "Invitation To Love", also a diatonic tuning song. There are a lot of JB signature licks on those songs! We like that. 😊 _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

He doesn't really sing, it's more like recitation, and it's not very good (more understatement).
I've been reading about Paul Page and it says he was a midwesterner who was obsessed which Polynesia, exotica, and romantic images of seafaring...
“It was almost like an act that he created, that he’d been concocting from Day 1. He’s from the Midwest, but his dream was to be like a roving, seafaring, Pacific Ocean version of... a sea-shanty kind of guy.â€
"Backed by noted Hawaiian steel guitar player Bernie “Kaai†Lewis, who was a session musician on a number of Elvis Presley records, Page’s recordings resonate with musical authenticity, even if his gentlemanly song-talking is as Midwestern as they come." _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel
