That was a great solo, Bill. Effortless.
My Dad and I saw Claude play the main stage in St.Louis, at least a few times as I recall.
I wish I had his stage presence!
He was always so happy and would point out his 30" Scale Steel (it looked really loooong), and rip through his songs with great bouncy body language and fluency.
I had no idea it was E-Harp tuning.

In case anyone missed it, Bill Ferguson just posted a link to Claude Brownell performing at the 1999 Smoky Mountain Jamboree (in the Steel on the Web section of the Forum.)

Here is the link to the youtube video.

Wow, that's an interesting video. I guess that answers the question about Claude being a singer as well as a steel player. Cool stuff.

Cool Claude attended our HSGA convention in Joliet IL one year. He is probably playing on one or more of our VHS convention tapes but I gave most of my HSGA & AISGC tapes away.

What a great video!!!.... how could anybody not feel good watching and listening to this man?....

I bought a cd from him some years back and it arrived with a hand written, very funny, personable letter.....a very talented, upbeat, and humble man.....
