StringMaster Tuners Hard to Turn - Any Advise?

I've got a 1960 D8 and a 1957 T8 and on both of them some of the tuners take some effort to turn.

I picked up a 1940 Gibson EH-185 this week and the tuners (originals) turn so easily.

Any advise on how I get the tuners on my StringMasters to turn a bit easier?
