Joachim,
No, we've just never outgrown poop jokes over here. I gotta admit, this is a pretty good one.

Joachim, to explain, when someone asks something which is an absolute certainty ("Will the sun come up tomorrow morning?"), the reply is "Does a bear s**t in the woods?". In other words, "absolutely!"

With that in mind, Mr. Bear is suggesting allowing the air to clear a bit now that he has done his deed.

It's a "this side of the Atlantic" thing I suppose. Sometimes we're amused by the strangest things over here! Laughing

I didn't get it either, but now it makes perfect sense. The forum comes through again! I've been in AZ too long I guess.

Germany is famous for its woods, Arizona not so much.

How to catch a bear:
Dig a hole in the woods.
Cut some trees and burn them in the hole.
Get a can of early June peas and spread them around the hole.
When the bear comes to take a pea, kick him in the ash hole. Whoa!

Anybody know the bear joke, where the punchline is:
"You're not here for the hunting, are you."

Don, that was the most diplomatic and eloquent explanation of a funky phrase ever! Funny in it's own right...

Thank you! Some things can be easily explained face to face over an adult beverage. We had 2 complications here, first the fact that Joachim is in another country not familiar with some of our wording, and second the need to keep the forum at least somewhat respectable for those who may not appreciate a more direct answer!

Brooks, yes I do.
It's one of my Wife's favorites and she references it all the time.
Larger calibers and more bullets do not allow the "Rainbow" hunter to satisfy his hunting urge..... Or does it?
Patrick

P.S. Do I win a new fly rod?

Patrick , no fly rod for this, but I’m still waiting to give one away to someone (you?) that puts LJ’s words to music, records it, posts it here.
Operators are standing by. Razz

Brooks,
Putting LJ's words into a comprehensible sentence is difficult enough, let alone adding melody.
I may give it a go though as I lost all my fishing/hunting gear, home, shop, and most of my music gear in a forest fire last July.
Patrick

PS Isn't it nice that the puzzle fad has faded??
