TC Electronic M350 for delay and reverb. It has many choices of delay and reverb simulation and all can be dissected and fine tuned. I especially like the reverbs with pre-delay knob to adjust the amount of dry signal before the reverb kicks in (add reverb tail to the delay signal).
For stomp boxes at home, I use a MXR Carbon Copy and TC Electronic Hall Of Fame. I carry the Hall of Fame in my seat for a backup.

Strymon El Cap for me. Tap tempo and it's just the best sounding tape emulation I've ever heard. Warm and dark. Perfect for steel IMO. Certainly can't go wrong with Chase Bliss tho. Every pedal Joel makes is incredible and are the most versatile pedals made today. Pricey and worth it.

Chase Bliss "Thermae" ! Great real analog delay plus it does a whole other thing that is astonishing. I always liked the Carbon Copy for simple analog delay also.

| I have two on my board. One is an old rehoused/true bypassed Washburn Aad-9 - just a wonderful sounding simple analog delay. For more ambient sounds that I can get super spacey with, I have a DOD Rubberneck. |

I’m a bit of a delay junkie and have an embarrassing number of them that get used for different sounds as needed. That said, the one I’m using most - by far - these days is one of the cheapest and simplest I own; the Mojo Hand FX Mirror Ball.
Three things I love about it:
1. The original signal keeps it’s tone - no high end loss like with so many delays - but then the repeats have that cool analog-sounding decay.
2. Unlike so many other modern delays that give you fun-but-extreme wobbly modulation, you can add just enough modulation to thicken your sound without any noticeable wobble.
3. The price. Not sure what these go for new but they regularly show up used for $75 - $80. |

I really like the Gurus Echosex 3 with tap tempo. It is tube
driven with a 12ax7. Beautiful all the way around. When I
want to go nuts I run an Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master
into a Dunlop Echoplex pedal and then into the Echosex. Completely
ambient cacophony. I love it. There is a great Chris Buck

Swapped the RV-3 for a Dispatch master. Reverb and Delay.
Much easier to adjust not so touchy.
Lexicon in the Telonics rack.

Tap tempo is a requirement for me, and a big plus is being able to set the echo to 2/3 of the beat for swing. The Neunaber Echelon and the Strymon DIG both have this feature.
I use the Line 6 POD XT sometimes. It sounds good and has tap tempo, but it won't do the swing thing.

If I'm looking for classic analog style slap back, I'm running a Wampler Faux Tape Echo (latest version).
When I need something more Ambient Wampler the Doctor, or the Wampler Ethereal (which is a Delay/Reverb in a single pedal with a smaller footprint). |

My favorite right now is the Earthquaker Avalanche Run.
It has tap tempo/ expression pedal input /and a real nice reverb. It has a lot of options like reverse and swell delays for more ambient new age sounds. |

| I’ve been using the Source Audio Nenesis delay and Ventris reverb pedals. Both are outstanding sounding but the learning curve is a bit steep. I bought their Soleman MIDI control pedal also which allows you to create scenes and recall settings on any of their pedals. |

| I also use (and really like) the Source Audio Nemesis delay, especially the Diffusion mode. But during rehearsals I use a Strymon El Capistan that has a very nice, organic feeling emulation of a multi-head tape unit in the manner of the venerable Maestro Echoplex. Both units have a tap tempo switch. |
