What tuning do you use? If you are planning on going to pedal steel I would suggest using the E7 tuning as it is closely related to the E9 tuning on pedal steel. You can get a ton of books with tab for the E7 tuning from any fair sized music store.

I started making a program to learn lap steel for my grandson, with tab and rhythm tracks, but he seems to have lost interest, so I put it on hold. I would also suggest that you learn to play directly from standard music notation.
