| WELLLLL.... Wally looks like you and I have to tip our hats to Jack Klein and Willie Sims as being the oldest pickers and grinners so far on SGF. Shucks I thought we were the TOP DOGS'. If I figure right They posted in 2017 soooo.... they should both be about 93. I hope they both are pickin and grinnin today...Lee |

Now have a SX 6 string lap in G,.A Tele plus telecaster, Larrivee acoustic.Also have a Fender resonator guitar with new Quarterman cone and spider,and an Allan tailpiece.Playing through a Fender Super Champ XD,using a little delay on the amp and a Harmonix Holy Grail Echo pedal,set on Hall turned to about 1pm.Just got a Fender Dual 6 Stringmaster style. Bought a Yamaha FGX5 Recently and love it. |

You fellas in your 80's and 90's impress me! I sure learning this steel at 65 will keep my brain challenged enough to keep my brain functioning at max capacity for years!

Old enough that I don't remember if I posted on this previously? If I did, now I'm 70. In military terms, I'm short.

I'm turning 64 in July. Been playing bass since I was 15, but started steel about 40. When I told a musician friend I started playing steel, he asked me my age and said "you'll never make it". He may have been right. Hey, wait, did I tell you that already?
