The world's formost steel guitarist, Mr. Buddy (Big E) Emmons.
Just watch how easy he makes it look and many times does not even watch his hands.
Buddy Emmons - Steel
David Smith - Bass
Bobby Regot - Drums "Like a metronome"
Gregg Galbraith - Guitar
Roy Rosetta - Piano
David Russell - Fiddle

My all time favorite was Buddy Emmons. Everything a steel player could want he had in his playing. Thanks Bill for another gem |

Bill, here we go again. I know it’s Buddy Emmons, the amp & effects matter, the venue & sound system matter, your recording eguipment & expertise matters but what is that guitar? What a great tone! |

Danny,
That’s “The Blade†that Buddy is playing. Its a late 1967 or early 1968 rosewood push pull. Do a search on The Blade and you’ll find much good reading on that particular Emmons.
Bill, thanks so much for posting that. It just don’t get much better!

Thanks Forrest. I have heard of the Blade but never dug into the details. I just assumed it had the normal Emmons emblem & front. It’s amazing and I just like the sound quality of Bill’s recording on this. |

What a joy to watch, especially the end where he's truly amusing himself and impressing even David Smith who probably heard Buddy play as much as anybody.
Thanks Bill. Great stuff as always.
I love all your videos, but nothing beats the big E |
