Good Morning,
Something different this week - Here's a track from a 1973 album by a singer who never really made it big. The album credits list two players (both SGHOF members) and on the track you'll hear two steels playing (left - right) at the same time. No idea who is who or if it is only one player who did both takes. However, they decided to leave both steel lines on. Quite unusual!

Enjoy the music!

Cancel all my previous comments. Just realized who it actually is, but I'll keep it to myself, since I cheated. |

Hi Peter,
It is Don Adams who was a protege of Johnny Paycheck and got to record an album in 1973. Credits list Doug Jernigan (who was with Paycheck at the time I think) and Weldon Myrick as steel players but listening to the track I cannot identify who is who...

Don Adams and his brothers were part of the original Jones Boys, as well as backing Johnny Paycheck (as did Doug Jernigan). They're on the great "Live At Dancetown" recording. I read there was a second Don Adams album in progress when Atlantic pulled the plug on their foray into country music. Too bad. |
