Does anyone know who played the steel on Stonewall Jacksons Life To Go? I've been looking online but cant find anything.

Yes, Don Helms played on the original hit Stonewall Jackson version, in November 1958. He also played on the Webb Pierce version recorded only a month later. George Jones wrote the song in 1954, but he didn't record it himself until 1959. His version had no steel in it. |
