True story: about 30 years ago, I took my daughter on a three-day fishing trip to the Big Hole River, MT, which is just on the other side of the Beaverhead mountains from my little Idaho town.

Before we set out, my five-year old daughter and I started digging up nightcrawlers with a shovel in our garden. We gathered some worms, but not enough for three days, so we stopped at a store and purchased a styrofoam cup full of worms, and added ours to it.

We launched on the river in my driftboat and started fishing. My daughter caught a few trout, and we had a nice lunch. After lunch my daughter dug into the styrofoam cup for a fresh worm and exclaimed with glee, "Dadda, this is one of the worms that I dug up in the garden!"
"How can you tell?" I asked.
"Because I recognize it's face!"

I bet you've gottn a lot of mileage out that you just can't go wrong with daughters especially if they are blonde.

I'm willing to bet she did recognize the worm.

Children see things adults take for granted or filter out.
