Anybody out there using the new Omni pedal with the Mullen bracket?
Does it fit without modification?
Thanks!

Goodrich is bringing me some of their new brackets to the Dallas Show.
They are designed to fit the OMNI and the Standard 120 model pedals.

Yippee

I have the Mullen bracket on my Omni pedal. I had to notch it to give the control its full travel. Easy task with a Dremel.

Dale, could you elaborate a little?
What did you do to the bracket?
Maybe a pic?
Thanks!

Olli,

The bracket attaches to the front bottom of your Goodrich volume pedal and lips over the pedal bar of your steel guitar.

This holds your volume pedal in the same positionn all the time, plus it will stay in place if you move your steel.

Bill, I meant the Mullen bracket and what Dale did to it to make it fit the Omni.
😀😀

Ok got
The day off and well picture is worth a thousand words

As you can see in the picture the string mechanism on the Omni pedatl when fully depressed extends below the bottom plate of the pedal, the pedal with out the mounting pedal bar plate gets it clearance from the rubber feet height enabling the pedal to be full travel. So some people have reverted to cutting out the area where the Omni mechanism dips below the bottom of the body plate. Yes you can do it but I’m not gonna scab up something to fix a design issue. Hope this help Olli
Oh I guess while I’m at it is I really like “Mullen” type of VP unlike the over the top design that clamps down over the whole surface of the pedal bar

Thank you George!
I already have the Mullen bracket system on two guitars, so if I get the Omni it has to work with it like my Goodrich 120 pedals.
So you get a shorter travel if you don`t drill a hole in the bracket?
The Mullen is way better, IMO, than the over the pedal bar designs.

Entirely welcome Olli. Been enough discussion on the issue just felt like making it a little clearer. Yes on the travel issue, and I second your preference. I've got two "Mullen" bracket and Emmons pin bracket adapters as well that perform well also. Oversight on the Omni pedal that's all, not the end of the world, or maybe at the end of the design process it was discovered and would have been too costly to remanufacture who knows, the Omni still performs very well as a pedal steel VP.

Olli, you are welcome. Just cut the corner off with a dremel. Cut at an angle if you use the pedal angled.

I really like the Mullen pedal bracket system. You can buy the one piece that fits the pedal, and as many separate attachment pieces for the pedal bars on whichever steels you choose.

It’s really simple and efficient, works on all my steels, and is much better than the over the pedal bar type brackets. Your pedal ends up in the exact position on all your steels each time, even if you pick up the steel. One less thing to think about.

Perfect fit. Also, I already found a use for the tuner out on the left side of the pedal.
