Every steel player needs to be able to play the TN Waltz. What better way to learn it than step by step from a pro instructor like William. With his videos and the written material he provides, it's easy to learn it quickly. This is important.... if you learn it the right way first, you only have to learn it once.

Gorgeous song and your arrangement makes it alive for sure! Your comment about the “declining†popularity of the pedal steel, William, is SAD 😞, but unfortunately true.
PS is not for the faint of heart or for someone who does NOT like to spend the hours of required practicing. I think the biggest contributor of dying PS interest is the lack of Qualified Instructors (as yourself). A slew of guitar instructors out there—very FEW teach steel. Lot of great PS players but not so great at teaching. This instrument has a lot of mechanics to it and requires some finesse. That’s where you come in, William. You are the one we all lean on for support to help us learn. Keep talking us through it. We love ya, Man! |

That's a great comment Gary on the PSG teachers out there. One simple thing that will tell the story Gary. Before you do anything listen to them play. If you can't hear them play there is a good reason for it.

Gary well said my friend, I agree with you that all
great players don't necessary mean great teachers. William is one of the few that is a great player and teacher combined. He played in the trenches for years and years and now 9 years of teaching a 1 hour broadcast each week should tell you something about the man. Show the man some love!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another fantastic class today that I had the pleasure of taking live! The technique exercises are great as usual, one of them this week is the opening riff to the Cream song Sunshine of your love, your right William I did love playing around with that! Much easier to end it at the tenth fret bouncing between 10th and 9th strings, but better technique practice to play it as written sliding from 5 to six and back again. The real treat today is the intro to Georgia, what a great song! William's instruction on how to move through this progression and how to find augmented and diminished chords was a great review and because it was attached to a song that is so fun to play it has a much better chance of sticking.
Great class, if you aren't listening in you are missing out.

| If William only knew how many times he gets me tickled when he finds a chord or a little jingle and then says " Ah yeah I Like That" and you know what 99.9% of the time he's right and then I say "Oh yeah I like that to". He's a fine teacher just wish he would move to my town so I could be on his door steps every morning when he opens it. Thanks William for taking time out of your schedule to help us hungry steelers out here. |

| William's arrangement of Tennessee Waltz is the best I have ever heard. This is a really nice song and he teaches it just like he played it on his YouTube video. Willliam is really good at teaching how to play with emotion and make the steel sound really good. |
