John:
The "Body" control is sort of a substitute for a "Middle" control. There are toggle switches for "Depth" and "Expand" as well. Plenty to work with in dialing in your sound.

I had four of these amps over the years from the late 70s through the mid 90s. I also had an FET 500, small cabinet. All of mine had the JBL E series 15" speakers. They were all the earlier, high voltage models like this one Tommy has for sale. They're great sounding amps and mine handled the road just fine. I've thought about getting another one of these amps often. Also, you can't go wrong buying from Tommy.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the difference is between the low and high voltage on these FET 500's?

Kevin,
I contacted the Evans Company about low voltage verses high voltage and this was the reply " A high voltage FET 500 Evans amp deliverers a sweeter and warmer tone by increasing the headroom throughout the pre-amp."
