Topic: Custom roller nuts for D-Berg Multibender? |

Hey guys,
I've read some posts of people that modified their steels with a Duesenberg Multibender and a fitting roller nut. Unfortunately Duesenberg won't sell the roller nut with the same string spacing seperately as a spare part (probably because they still want to sell their own steels  ). Does anyone have a recommendation where to find a custom roller nut with that string spacing for a 6-string? I've seen that before on a modified Gretsch, but couldn't find out where it was made or ordered from.
Any help would be much apprechiated! Thanks in advance! |

Try Hipshot. They make a six string roller nut.
I have one on a Melbert lap steel that has the Duesenberg unit mounted on it.

Is this the right one? Looks like it is made for dobro and sit on top of the fretboard, or am I looking at the wrong one? |

That's the one...Dobro roller nut...$79.00 (US). Works very well with the Duesenberg unit.
Mounting procedures are determined by your guitars neck construction. Mine sets in a "grove" like a lot of regular guitar nuts are installed. |

Melbert now sells a custom gauged roller nut with the same string spacing (.419) as the doosey bridge. The rod is held in place with a set screw so it can be taken apart to replace rollers if you change to different gauge strings. Designed for lap steels, sells for less than the Hipshot. Aluminum with phosphor bronze rollers.

So this is probably a dumb question, but on the Duesenberg Fairytale, do the roller nuts actually provide any benefit? It can't be played without the built-in sliding capo which clamps down on the strings. You can't tune it open without the capo clamped down which totally renders the rollers useless.....or am I missing something?
