I hope my northern states steel friends Erv Niehaus, Frank Freniere and Dick Sexton are keeping warm!
A special 'warm' greeting to Bent Romnes in Ontario, too, who made my beautiful steel, 'Lorelei'.
Turn the heating up!

We're holding our own here in Michigan. Though I do wish the sneaky Minnesotans would quit sending us their cold and snow! Mr. Green Whoa! Wink

Just kidding, Erv. Hope you guys are doing okay out there. I'd dare say you folks have had it worse than we have temperature wise.

Stay warm everyone, and be sure to keep the brass monkeys inside till this all blows over! Laughing

Hi Nick -

The wife and I escaped to Florida (despite a 4-hour plane delay) the day before the apocalypse. Traded in my mukluks for flipflops!

For the last week or so, it's been hitting thirty-below here in the high valley potato patch right before dawn. But unlike back in Minnie, it warms up to thirty-above in the afternoons.

being born and raised in South Mississippi, I don't see how ya'll stand it! No choice I guess. But there is something That I have always wondered.....with the temperature dropping to such extreme levels, how do ya'll keep your water pipes from freezing?

Plumbing here will keep from freezing as long as crawl space is insulated and you have no plumbing exposed to any draft. Living up here in the winter months is a good time to hibernate or just take it easy. I like the down time away from playing. Gives me a chance to do some exploring into different kinds of music. Mostly some C6 time.

Mitch,
In this part of the Country, all the water pipes are buried at least 6 ft. in the ground and sometimes they freeze up. Out in the country usually the problem is with the septic systems. If you have a high water table they put in mound systems and they have a tendency to freeze up when the weather gets bad. Very Happy

It's gone from bitterly cold, to mild, and back to cold again. Now all the roads are covered in a sheet of ice. Be careful out there my fellow tundra dwellers!
