Let me be up front. I'm not a steel player, I'm not even really well versed in the language associated with the instrument. I inherited this from my father and while I have a lifetime of formative memories watching him play it I have never done so. I thought I would keep it and learn to play it in his memory, but my chosen career has me relocating regularly and I've now been hauling this very large and heavy sentimental item around for five years without ever finding time to take a lesson. I have finally admitted that while I loved him, I am not him. I will never learn to play this. Thus, I reconcile the decision to sell knowing that it is a tragedy that it sits in a box in my garage when it could be loved and used by somebody who does play.

I say all of this because I do not know which details are useful to a potential buyer. If you want more detail please post a question and I will try to get you the relevant information. Also, while possibly a romantic notion, I would love to think that I can stay in contact with the buyer, who might let me know if they are playing a public performance so that I might see this lovely instrument making music again.

This Pedal Steel Guitar is:

Serial Number 132
Built 1969
Bought (I'm pretty sure from the Chicago Store in Tucson Arizona) by my father as the single and only owner before myself
In the original case, which is intact, but could use some TLC.

I am including as many pictures as possible so that people can see the 'set up' for themselves as I doubt that I could describe it in proper terms. (but if you have questions, please ask and I will try)

It will come with all of the accessories pictured. Some I believe are unrelated to the guitar itself, but are related to playing music live and seem like they should go to whomever buys it.

Asking price does not include shipping. Buyer will pay shipping and take responsibility for damage during shipping. That being said, really my preference would be to hand the guitar off in a face-to-face manner.

My asking price is $1750.00

I will close by also asking this community to please intervene if I am way off base in anything I post here. I humbly ask the advice of those who participate in this forum.

That is a good original guitar Bill. It would shine up very nicely. I don't think your price is out of line. I'm not interested but just wanted to let you know that it should sell if you will be patient.

That's a killer deal on a ZB. Twangiest tone on the planet. Good luck with the sale!

Very Happy Wow!, that is one beautiful guitar. Looks like one I saw a picture of with Tom Brumley setting behind it.
Best luck selling.

Can anyone who has looked at these pics tell whether it is Emmons or Day set up?

Looks like P1 is not a C pedal, so it must be Emmons.
Not sure about the knees, but LKL looks like it's missing a rod. A very pretty ZB!
