Today is Buddy Emmons' 82nd birthday. Last year Mike Perlowin declared that this day should henceforth be International Pedal Steel Guitar Day: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=2734853#2734853

So here we are, happy International Pedal Steel Guitar Day!

Here's a little Buddy to start the day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhbtOavlIgg.
Someone else will have to plan the rest of the festivities Wink

I only remember his birthday because it is one day before mine. I sure miss the Big E and what he brought to the table. He had everything a steel player could want when it came to steel guitar.

Big E's birthday has a reminder in my Mac calendar, as does the day he died. Both remind me what a monster talent he was, to appreciate his many contributions to our instrument, and to keep aspiring!

If you have RFD TV, Buddy plays on That Nashville Music show sometimes that's been running lately. The shows were filmed in the '70's.
