Has anyone ever demoed a Scorpion SP15825 in an opem back cab?

How does it compare tonally to a 1502 (bass type Black Widow) that came in the Vegas 400?

I have read the Scorpions have a fairly flat midrange and sound like EVM12Ls.

There is one listed in my local buy and sell for cheap and am looking for a cheap improvement on the 1502.

IMHO, they're not as good as an EV. A Scorpion is closer to regular guitar speaker, like a Jensen, but with a higher power rating. As to whether or not you'd like a Scorp better than a BW speaker, that depends on what you're looking for. If you want less bass and tons of mids and highs, the Scorp might make you happy.
