The SGF Pedal Steel Workstands are back in stock. Designed by Ross Shafer (of Sierra fame) exclusively for The Steel Guitar Forum, it can be adjusted to fit almost any single- or double-neck pedal steel. You need one of these whenever you have to turn your guitar upside down to fix or change something. Handy and portable. $125.

Your workspace is a lot neater than mine, but I just used my workstand to do a bunch of stuff to my MSA D10 Classic. It was great to have the possibility of adding and altering changes and plucking the strings immediately to test the result!

Nice photo, Al. I've been using the stand to work on two S-10s lately - a Marlen pull-release and a Sho~Bud Pro I.

I recently bought one of these Workstands from b0b to work on my Fender 400. The Fender is a heavy guitar and this stand holds it up just fine. My back and eyes are not what they used to be, so getting my work held solidly and at a comfortable height is always a big help. I have a Keyboard X-stand below the Workstand to support it.

Recommended! Cool

I just used my Workstand again today, to install another pull on my Zumsteel Encore (thanks, Doug!). This is a smallish single-neck, as compared to my old MSA Classic D10 shown in a picture above, which is a large double-neck. After a quick size adjustment, it worked just as well.

These things are the bee's knees! Being able to test pedals and tuning as you go totally rocks! If you EVER work on a pedal steel, you should get one!

Great item. It will last a lifetime and makes working on your steel easy. Also,
the tray in front is nice to put allen wrenches and small parts.

They are out of stock right now, Randy. We're working on another batch. Probably a couple of months out. Sorry about the broken link.

I love this thing. I used to loathe working on my steel, now I really enjoy it. I've been experimenting with the copedent of my Mullen PRP U12. The contact points where the body meets the stand are wider by the headstock than in the middle, so the supporting walls can be can be set at different distances from each other. It works beautifully.
