This is a beautiful quilted maple with rosewood trim, S-10, 3&5. It comes with the origional bill of sale, made in 2011, a one owner guitar until LM English and I got it. It had been played very little and has been in the case for most of its life. It has Mr. Colvins straight changer and the lube had dried causing the action to be very stiff. I have had two previous Lamars and have had conversations with Lamar and knew exactly how to clean and correctly lube the changer. The changer showed no wear on any of its parts. The guitar now plays like a dream, with smooth action on the pedals and knees. It is a 25" scale and is set up Emmons. E raise & lower on the left knees. The Rt knee left raises 1 & 2 and lowers 6, Rt knee Rt lowers 2nd string to D/C# - 8 to C#. This is a very light and compact guitar and the case and guitar are like new. It has a really great tone and substain. $2150 shipped

Very nice.
The changer fingers look very unusual. How does that changer work?

Lamar Colvin makes a really nice steel guitar! And he's a nice a guy as there ever was.
The changer mech itself is very much like most all pull systems...except...instead of the assembly rotating the top of the finger it engages a "sled" that runs linnearly in an acetal plastic (aka delrin) track. This is the only true "linear" changer that I'm aware of. Very cool design. |
