Memories of Clifford L. Warren (1935 - 2018)
Sharing the memories of one of our own, Bishop Clifford L. Warren, as he walks the red carpet with his wife Jessie, and is honored as a legendary rhythm guitarist in the Sacred Steel music tradition of Mother Tate’s Church, the Church of the Living God.
Bishop Clifford L. Warren was a pastor, musician, and church historian in the Jewell Dominion Church of the Living God. For his 70 plus years of dedicated service as a church musician he received the Legends Award in 2009, inducted into the Sacred Steel Hall of Fame in 2010, and recently received the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award. He was, and will always be one of the most dearest of friends, that I knew, in this world. When I was crippled by a drunken driver, as I was trying to assist a family friend in getting her car off the express way, and was struck down, and was rushed to the hospital where they had to finish the amputation of both legs above knees,he was among the first to arrive at the hospital to inquire about my condition and offer any thing that he could do when I was finally released from the same. I will never forget his generosity. R.I.P. My friend among friends.
