I’m sure it’s been kicked around... but
Can anyone offer tonal, volume or player opinions between the two weissenborn body styles? I have the standard bodies...

Well, I thought the video clip was better than my memory of a guitar I played in a store ten years ago but i’d Say it had kind of a more throaty tone than most traditionally shaped Weissenbirns i’ve Played.

My last Weissenborn is a traditional body style but in deep body, I like it.

I have two original teardrops and (more than two plus some oddball) standard Weissenborns, and my take is that the teardrops have a more direct and treble-y character--not surprising to me given the smaller body volume and lack of upper bouts for the soundwaves to perambulate in.
Overall, the volume between teardrop and standard seems pretty comparable, the differences to my ear being between individual guitars, rather than groups or types or styles.
And as mentioned earlier, I tried to play a teardrop (my first and then-only Weissenborn) standing up with a strap. I haven't tried again since: it wants to wander 90 degrees around to my right hip.
