Hello,

My new solo album "Songs For Lap Steel And Harmonium" will be released in November. Here is a little trailer video, featuring all the lap steels I played on the album - a Burgin baritone Weissenborn, a 1937 National New Yorker, two Lap King Rodeos, a 1930s Oahu student acoustic - and a P-bass played like a lap steel:

Hope you will enjoy! The album can be pre-ordered now on LP+booklet+download or booklet+CD quality download here:

Thanks for listening, and have a good week all!

Fredrik

Here is the first music video from the album - "Swede Hollow":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6JQ3slMJMQ

In this track, the harmonium is in the foreground and the lap steel (my baritone Weissenborn "bowed" with a brush shaft) more ornamental. In the next track we are making a video for, the lap steel plays the main part. Wink

Hope you will enjoy! When pre-ordering the LP from Bandcamp, this track now comes as an instant download:

https://fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/

("Swede Hollow" is a valley in St. Paul, Minnesota, and also the title of Swedish author Ola Larsmo's book about Swedish immigrants living there in squalor in the early 1900s. For those interested, there is some more info about that in the info text for the YouTube video.)

Thanks for listening!

Fredrik

I'm more and more convinced there is an underground lap steel movement. Amazing things being done on lap steel

Many thanks to those who have already pre-ordered my upcoming album "Songs for Lap Steel and Harmonium"! It is much appreciated, and really helps in this age of streaming!

If anyone else would like to pre-order the album, the first batch of pre-orders will ship tomorrow, before I go on tour for 8 days. So if you would like to get this album a bit ahead of its 9 November release, if you pre-order it here by early (European) afternoon tomorrow, it will be posted tomorrow:

https://fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/

There is vinyl and/or a 16-page booklet with lyrics and photos - both include a CD-quality download.

If anyone prefers a CD, although there will only be LP and booklet/download for the official release, I have a handful of promo-CDs left (literally 3 or 4 CDs) so if you would like one of these, please order a booklet+download and mention as a message that you would like a CD too, and I will include one for free if they are not already gone.

Many thanks for the support! We have a new video almost finished too - this time a Weissenborn-based song. Smile

All the best,

Fred

My album "Songs for Lap Steel and Harmonium" is out now on LP and booklet-with-download (as a physical/digital alterative to CD). Available to hear/buy here:

https://fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-lap-steel-and-harmonium

Up until Christmas, there is a flat-rate shipping on 1 or more copies, to make it an attractive Christmas gift idea. Wink

Also available at iTunes etc. too of course.

I also posted a track-by-track thing with info on the lap steels and tunings I used etc. that was maybe a lot of information in one post, but for those interested, it can be found here:

https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=338125

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy.

All the best from Berlin,

Fredrik

Wonderful. The sound on Crystal Fruit Bowl (and really, all of them) is beautiful.

A pre-Christmas BUMP for my album.

In case anyone would like an LP (or CD - I found 4 more promo CDs that can be order as a "booklet with download" order but mention as a note that you would like a CD. While stock lasts.) for themselves or someone else for Christmas! Smile

All available at Bandcamp HERE.
