On this parts Bud build I have 0 cabinet drop Harry an David Jackson both said they were very impressed. Instead of dropping it gains one cent on the two Es. When u mash hard on a A an b pedals All I did differently was too make sure the front an back apron fit snugly against end plate on all four corners.
A magnetic system that turns on an off like a light switch has 150 pound strength. Just turn the black knob to take off arm rest. Very sturdy. I might add a soft pad to top on
arm rest later but I hate to cover up the beautiful curly maple.
The best gismo would clamp to the back right leg on steel make the arm rest ajustalble any angle or highth then get the arm rest to feel just right.

Bill it makes this old Sho Bud sound like a push Pull😃🌈.
Just kidding it has no effect there’s 3/4 inch inch of maple hardwood between magnets An pickup plus a air space. |

| Thanks Barry there is some logic to this for one a beginner can see his pedals. Very compact an less weight. I have been playing this steel an the arm rest really helps steady my picking hand. |

RC this is a not economical way to do this those magnets are $40 each they have a cool fun factor but a much easier way to install is shown in pictures below. You can actually buy hardware for hanging pictures an shelves at the big box store’s that would do the same thing for a few dollars.
The storage shelf under pad is not needed.
I’m putting my magnet back on my table saw feather board an changing to the slots.

Guys if you use a table saw band saw, jointer these mag switch feather bird make it much safer to operate these finger eating tools.

| Thanks Larry the aluminum angle is two an a half buy two An a half by /one eighth thick. The aluminum part that screws to steel is 3/8 thick with a slot milled in it to accept the male part of shelf. |

| Thanks Johnny. I thought you may have fabricated the mounting bracket. I'm going to have a look at the big box store to see what metals they have available. Did you drill tap and thread into the steel body or use a bolt and nut? I'm making a arm rest and using this method if it works out. |

| Larry the ones on the ZKing steel the female part I used wood screws. On the magnet on the Sho Bud hybrid it has to have metal to attach magnet shelf it has 6/32 screws an nuts. |

I guess Don Blood still makes these there super nice An you don’t have to put screws in the back of your steel. I would like one like this with just a short arm rest on pickup end attached to just one leg. If some one can make a one leg attachable arm rest about 8 or so inches long I’ll be your first customer.

| Johnny, Don Blood does still make these and I believe he will make a single like you suggested. His attach to the leg with a rather unique clamp. You would have to remove the clamp to put in your case. No big deal. I want the slide in style like you designed. Thats what I'm shooting for. |
