I ordered a “mid-sized” large winder (3 sizes available from Jim) and it came in the mail today. I have several older guitars with the large keyhead with “butter bean” type Grover’s and also fits my Emmons just fine! This is a lifetime investment, as it is made extremely well & engineered with top quality parts. We’ve all had 1/2 dozen or more of the cheapie nylon/plastic ones that fall apart. Thanks Jim!

Any ineterest here in a keyless manual winder variant?

I have to give Memphislim credit for sparking the idea.
This model uses the same fixed steel axel with delrin handle concept for long life. The shroud has a slot milled in it to captivate an L-shaped, 9/64", shortie, Allen key. See the photos. I have a conventional long Allen pictured here which is too long really. I have some shorties on order but it illustrates the concept.
Memphislim has an Excell keyless. I'm not sure all keyless guitars use the same size allen key but it's little trouble to changed the slot and through hole to fit a particular size.[img]

Nice work Jim,thanks for working with me. The 9/64th is for my new Sierra, the Excel would take a 2.5mm.

I'm looking for one of Jim's string winders. Does anyone know if he is still making them?

Hey Folks,
I see there is renewed interest in the winders so I've made up a batch and can ship immediately. From now on I plan to always have some in stock.
Thanks all for the business.

Sorry Damir and John, and the rest of the community. For the time being I'm not making any winders. Perhaps in 2021 I will when this pandemic plays out. Now I'm not spending any money on materials. My ultimate goal is to vend out the machining so I can keep up with demand from a larger audience. Need funds for that too.
