Bill Turpin, owner of Real to Reel Studios passed away Tuesday 12-11-18. Bill was a great guy and a great musician. His recording legacy goes way back before there was any such thing as a CD, hence the name REAL TO REEL. I worked on several projects with Bill for many years, tho none of late. His son, Will was a member of the Georgia band, Collective Soul who had a major hit in the Pop and R&R industry with a tune entitled "Shine." His funeral will be Sunday 12-16 at 3PM at Stockbridge First United Methodist Church. Peace & comfort to his family and his many, many musician friends, many of whom would not be where they are had it not been for his help. Rest in peace, my friend.

Thanks, Steve. I’ve been thinking of the many great sessions I spent with Bill, laughing and joking. Pure pleasure. As you say, he helped many, many musicians over the years. RIP to a sweet soul.
