Hey Greg, no not really. Overall I like the EQ control of the DV Mark, Yes, it can get bright in a hurry but It may be due to which speaker and cab we may be using. These days I find I'm not quite as ANAL as I used to be so maybe I'm relaxing a bit. I've been pleased overall , especially in a double duty situation.
From the beginning I was very impressed with the MID range control on these little amps, I always had issues with the mid range on the PV amps, it seemed I could never quite dial OUT what I didn't want, the DV is much more flexible to my ears.
Finding a one EQ solution for both the Tele and the Steel is always going to present some kind of issue, any amp, what PUPS are in the Steel, what PUPS are in the Tele, now we are asking the amp to figure it out !
For me, I set my EQ's for the STEEL first, clean side, then adjust moderately for the guitars but not straying too far. For the guitar I mostly use the OD channel with very little gain adjust but do indeed change the EQ settings in the OD channel. This is a neat feature on the DV amp, you can dial in totally different EQ settings for each of the channels, but remember, the clean side is interactive with the OD side. Very little drive is the key.
The 12" speaker I am currently using is a stock Fender Gold Label 50 watt Eminence. I have these in EVERY amp I use. They may not be the best but they are very consistent. I even have one in my Nashville 112.
Best to you Greg !
